As we advise businesses and business owners on investment strategies, and undoubtedly for a lot of people a home is a major investment, so are frequently asked about when is a good time in the year to buy. While it may be more convenient to buy a home in the summer before school starts, waiting until fall or winter can save you big dollars, according to a new NerdWallet study. Why? 1) Summer is typically the most expensive time to buy. 2) Sale prices fall in autumn. 3) Home sale prices are usually lowest in winter. However, more temperate-climate states like our lovely California may not reflect the exact patterns mentioned above. But in general, the earlier you get into this market, the better off you are, financially and emotionally speaking.
